The cover illustration for Knights of the Roundish Table includes vital elements from the stories: a dragon, crossed swords, a turnip (remember, potatoes came from the New World a millennium later), Robin's sheep, and a pineapple. One of my favourite scenes pivots on a pineapple - because pineapples are funny. I have no idea why. Perhaps there's some link deep in a forgotten corner of my childhood between a pineapple and something really hilarious happening. We may never know for sure.
